What's For Dinner Wednesdays: Philly Cheesesteaks

Crock Pot Philly Cheesesteak Sandwiches

These are one of our favorite sandwiches.  The garlic mayo makes the sandwich.  It melts with the cheese and brings all the flavors together.  It is quick and delicious.  We like to serve it with homemade ranch steak fries!

Ingredients:
6 French Rolls
1 C mayo
2 cloves garlic, minced
1-3 lbs Thin Sliced Carne Asada (depending on how much meat you want on your sandwich)
2C frozen bell pepper strips
1 medium onion cut into 1/4" rings
1 tsp Montreal Steak Seasoning
1/2 tsp Garlic Salt
3 TBS Worchestershire Sauce
1/4 tsp pepper
1 tsp beef bullion (we like Better Than Bullion)
2C shredded cheese (cheddar, american, or provolone)

Foil

Directions:
1.  Combine mayo and garlic in an airtight container, stir.  Cover and refrigerate until you are ready to use (at least 1 hour).

2.  In crockpot place carne asada, peppers, onions and seasonings.  Cook on high 4 hours (until beef easily falls apart when pulled with a fork).

To Make Sandwiches:
Preheat oven to 450

Split a french roll lengthwise.  Spread a generous TBS on garlic mayo on both sides of cut bread, add beef, peppers, onions and shredded cheese.  Close sandwich and wrap tightly with foil.  Bake at 450 for 15 minutes until cheese is melted and bread is crisp on the outside.

Making these for dinner again tonight! I made these after you posted this recipe several times and I couldn't fathom not having them after starting this diet so I have modified the recipe just a bit. I use thin sliced London Broil for the meat, low fat mayo, and I use low fat cheese and a whole wheat hotdog or hamburger bun for the roll. Still super delicious! Thank you for sharing this recipe I love it!!!

This has become a regular meal at our house. The leftovers are delicious over rice (like pepper steak). Easy and delicious! Thanks!
